Important Info for iPad Pilot Teachers

Good morning!

Yesterday was a long day, and of course there are several things that I forgot to mention in my email last night.

First:
Inside your bag you should have found the box that your iPad2 was shipped in. A yellow sticky note was attached to the box. This sticky note is VERY IMPORTANT! It contains the login credentials for the syncing profile on your laptop. You will need to login to your computer with these credentials every time that you want to access your iTunes library, access the iTunes store, or sync/update your iPad. Also included on this sticky note is the username and password to your district iTunes account. You will need this information when you "buy" FREE apps. As I mentioned during the meeting yesterday, PAID apps will need to be purchased through our district's Volume Purchase Program. Information about this program will be provided at a future meeting.

Second:
Inside the box you will find your USB charging cord AND a power adapter for charging your iPad 2. Please be mindful of these items as they are costly items to replace.

Third:
As noted on the Technology Resource Checkout form that you completed yesterday, you are responsible for guarding against loss or damage to the iPad2 and its accessories (case, USB cord, power adapter, VGA adapter). These items can most certainly be used in the classroom this year under your direct supervision, but should not be loaned out to another staff member. You should also make every effort to protect these items from theft by locking them up whenever you are not in the classroom (lunch, conference periods, before/after school, etc). Also we realize that many of us have other obligations after school and cannot always go home first. Please be sure that these items are not left in plain site in your vehicle.

Finally,
Don't forget that we will be meeting again next Monday, March 5th for "Appy Hour" at 4:00 p.m. in the ESC classroom. See you there!

NOTE ** I mentioned this in my email last night but I just wanted to remind everyone that we will be meeting in the Technology Department parking lot on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. to leave for our Kerrville site visit. Please contact me if you have any questions.

It was great seeing you all yesterday ... Hope everyone has a great week!
